Discover the Value of Pi (π) by Unrolling a Circle
This interactive tool helps you discover the mathematical constant Pi (π), which defines the relationship between a circle’s diameter and its circumference. It visually demonstrates that for any circle, the circumference is always about 3.14 times bigger than its diameter. 🧐
- Diameter (D): The distance across the circle through its center.
- Circumference (C): The distance around the circle.
- Pi (π): The constant ratio, C ÷ D.

How to Use

- Reveal Buttons: Click the series of reveal buttons (Diameter (D), Circumference (C), and π Formula) to walk through the calculation one step at a time. As you change the circle’s size, these values will update.
- Unroll Slider: The Unroll slider is the key feature here. Move it to watch the blue circumference transform into a straight line, making it easy to visually compare its length against the red diameter.
- Ruler: Use the Ruler button to toggle a ruler on the canvas. You can use it to manually measure and confirm the diameter.
