Calculating a Percentage, Decimal, or Fraction of an Amount
This classroom starter activity is designed for quick practice in calculating a percentage, fraction, or decimal of a given amount.
The activity helps teachers identify common misconceptions and aids students in recognizing equivalent values (e.g., that 50% is the same as 0.5 or ½). It also develops strategies for converting fractions to decimals, such as understanding that ⅕ is equivalent to ²⁄₁₀ or 0.2.
